Mobile from Virgin Media

Virgin Media is a leading provider of telecoms, web and home digital services. Through partnerships with existing mobile network operators, Virgin Media has been able to set up a successful wireless telecoms business in multiple countries, particularly the UK.

Virgin Media does not have its own network, so when it emerged in the UK in 1999 it became the world’s first ever Mobile Virtual Network Operator, meaning that it utilises, or piggybacks, another network for the service. UK Virgin Media customers use the Orange or T-Mobile networks, which are operated by Everything Everywhere.

The cable, broadband and phone provider NTL:Telewest was rebranded as Virgin Media in 2006, and this merger incorporated Virgin's mobile phone service. As a result, Virgin Media became the first provider able to simultaneously offer TV, internet, home phone and mobile to consumers in the UK.

There is no obligation to take all the services, but the convenience of using a single provider has proved to be a major incentive for customers. Virgin Media’s cable TV has become one of the leading subscription-based TV packages, whilst the broadband service continues to dominate and impress thanks to rapid, groundbreaking technological innovations.

As you would expect, Virgin Media offers multiple incentives to take its services together; you are often rewarded with money off or other similar discounts when you have TV, broadband, phone and mobile, but there are also plenty of deals for customers only choosing a single service such as Virgin Mobile.

Virgin Media - Mobile Phones

Virgin Media offers a range of different phones from leading providers, including entry level, mid-range and top of the line mobiles. The phones available can depend on whether you are looking for Pay As You Go or Pay Monthly, although some are offered with either, and you can also choose a SIM Only deal which means you just get the SIM card and no phone.

For Pay As You Go you would buy the phone outright and then top up with Virgin Media whenever you need to, whilst a Pay Monthly deal would offer a reduced cost for the handset and set allowances for calls, texts and mobile internet at a fixed monthly cost.

Virgin Media - Mobile Deals

There are various contract and Pay As You Go mobile packages to choose from, so it’s really down to your personal habits and circumstances when it comes to picking the right Virgin Mobile deal. Virgin Mobile also offers incentives and rewards to customers, so there is extra value in choosing your mobile deal.

Virgin Mobile rewards and incentives are often changed or altered to keep them interesting and fresh, but some of the popular offers include extra credit for introducing friends to Virgin Mobile and money earned towards a new mobile just for topping up.

If you already have other services from Virgin Media, such as TV and broadband, you could also find that you get money off your Virgin Mobile deal. This way you save money and you also use a single provider for different services which makes things convenient and easier.
